PROGRAM

Day 1
Flight Sofia-Delhi via transit airport.

Day 2
Arrival in Delhi. Transfer to hotel and check in.
In the evening, visit the Garudwara Bangla Sahib, a temple for the worship of Sikhs. If you wish, you can join other pilgrims in serving food to the worshippers. Return to the hotel and overnight.

Day 3
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning sightseeing tour of the Old City of Delhi - visit to Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India. 
A ride on one of India's most distinctive means of transport - the cycle rickshaw. A myriad of colours, organised chaos, crowds, a maze of narrow streets, soothing aromas, intoxicating smells, stray dogs and the sacred cow - you'll see all this and more as your cycle rickshaw skillfully meanders through the backstreets of the walled city of Shahjahanabad and passes by the Red Fort.
On one of the city's rooftops, Kabutarbaz (a pigeon lover) will demonstrate the art of controlling 50 pigeons using a whistle, a stick and a bag of seeds. 
Visit Raj Ghat, the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi.
The tour continues in the new part of the city - New Delhi. Visit the mausoleum of Emperor Humayun - a forerunner of the Mughal architectural style. Visit the 12th century Kitab Minar Tower, gracefully hand carved throughout its height of about 73 meters. Pass by the India Gate (a memorial to the fallen Indian soldiers), the Presidential residence - once the palace of the Viceroy, the Parliament House and the Secretariat buildings - an interesting blend of Victorian and 20th century architecture. Return to the hotel and overnight.

Day 4
Departure by bus to Agra. Arrival in Agra and check in at the hotel.
Afternoon sightseeing tour of Agra - Agra Fort - built by Emperor Akbar on the west bank of the Yamuna River and adorned with palaces and gardens by Jahangir. 
Late afternoon visit to Mehtab Bagh on the back side of the Taj Mahal for sunset photos. Return to the hotel and overnight.

Day 5
Visiting the Taj Mahal: moving by tonga (horse cart) to the Taj Mahal Gate at sunrise. Situated on the banks of the Yamuna River, the Taj Mahal is the embodiment of love, created by Emperor Shahjahan. 
Return to the hotel for breakfast. Check out from Agra by bus and leave for Jaipur
On the way visit Fatehpur Sikri. Built by Emperor Akbar between 1570 and 1585 and suddenly abandoned 15 years later due to a serious water shortage. 
Arrival and check in at the hotel in Jaipur.
Free evening and overnight.

Day 6
Breakfast. Morning excursion to the Amber Fortress complex, famous for its fortifications reflected in the still waters of Lake Maota.

Afternoon sightseeing tour of Jaipur city including visits to the City Palace, Hawa Mahal Palace and Jantar Mantar Observatory. 
Passing by the Hawa Mahal, the most famous landmark in Jaipur, this pink palace is constructed so that ladies can watch the royal processions without being visible to outsiders.
Return to the hotel and overnight.

Day 7
Breakfast and transfer to the airport. Flight to Mumbai. Arrival, transfer to hotel and check in.
Afternoon - half day city sightseeing tour featuring a mix of local culture, colours and the stark contrast of cosmopolitan Mumbai. 
The Lalbagh district was the heart of the textile industry that flourished in Mumbai from the mid-19th to the late 20th century. Later it became a market for spices and vegetables. Buleshwar is a district in Mumbai known for being home to over 100 temples, including the Mumba Devi. The area is also famous for the Buleshwar fruit and vegetable market. Check in to the hotel and overnight.

Day 8
After breakfast depart for a boat trip to the Elephanta Caves. The main cave has many large sculptural panels, all associated with Shiva, as well as a separate shrine. The most interesting of the panels includes the Trimurti, or three-headed Shiva.
Afternoon passing through the neighborhood - public laundry Dobie Gott.
Observing the local train on which commuters ride both outside and above - good for photos. Return to the hotel.
Afternoon tour of the historical part of the city. Visit the Municipal Building, which is located opposite Victoria Station, designed in early Gothic style and mixed with Indian motifs. The High Court was built in 1878 in the Early English Gothic style. The Rajabai Towers, built in the 19th century in the Gothic style on the university campus, have a clock tower 79 metres high. Drive past the Victoria Terminus, one of the largest Gothic style buildings. Later visit the Gateway of India, a 26-metre stone arch built to commemorate the proposed visit of King George the Fifth to India in 1911.
After the program transfer to the airport.
17.45-20.25 - Flight to Colombo.

Days 9 and 10
Free time to relax on the beach

Day 11
Departure for Kandy. On the way, visit Pinawela Elephant Reserve, established in 1975 to take in elephants left without parents and elephants injured by poachers. 
Visit the Royal Botanical Garden in Peradeniya - the largest in Southeast Asia. On an area of 147 acres, one can see more than 4,000 diverse trees, plants and flowers, including rare species of palms, herbs, more than 300 species of orchids. 
Arrive in Kandy, the cultural capital of the country. In the centre of the city, around an artificial lake, is the Dalada Maligawa Temple, where Sri Lanka's main relic, the Sacred Tooth of Buddha, is kept. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Kandy.

Day 12
Check out of the hotel and drive to Sigiriya. Visit a spice garden in Matale and a batik factory
In the second half of the day: ascend the Sigiriya Hill, also known as the "Lion Rock", which is one of the main attractions in the whole country. At a height of about 180 m in the 5th century, King Kasapa built a palace, the entrance to which is "guarded" by a huge stone lion. The fortress was surrounded by gardens with pools and fountains. Around 500 frescoes adorned the rock gallery, but only a few have survived to the present day. Dinner and overnight at a hotel in Dambulla.

Day 13
Breakfast and departure to Colombo. Explore the cave temple of Dambulla, located on top of a cliff 350 m above sea level. The temple consisting of five caves and famous for the many Buddha statues (some of them more than 2000 years old) collected in it. Arrive in Colombo and check in at the hotel. Free time to explore the central part of the city.

Day 14
Colombo-Sofia flight via transit airport. Arrival in Sofia on 21 March.
