Day 1
17:05 - 19:25 - Flight Sofia - Valencia. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight.
Day 2
Breakfast. Sightseeing tour of Valencia by double-decker bus. Choice of
between two routes: the historic or the coastal part of the city. During the historical tour you can visit the Plaza de la Reina and Plaza de la Virgen,
Valencia's central market, the LaLonja Silk Exchange, the Historical Museum, the Cathedral of Valencia, where the Holy Grail is kept, and more. The coastal tour showcases the city's postmodern look with PortAmerica's Cup, a modern marina built in 2007 to celebrate the international regatta of the same name, and the City of Arts and Science, a complex designed and built to welcome the 21st century. It houses the Prince Felipe Museum, the L'Hemisferic cinema and Europe's largest underwater oceanographic museum, covering 80,000 square metres. Overnight.
Day 3
Breakfast. Tour to Albufera, a nature reserve located 12 km south of
Valencia and defined as one of the most important in the world. Pass by El Saler, a narrow coastline separating Albufera from the sea. Albufera's freshwater lagoon is set on a picturesque landscape including six islands covered in pine trees and a beach separating it from the Mediterranean Sea. A one-hour cruise on the lagoon with views of the landscape, rice fields and nature.
Day 4
Breakfast. 07:35 - 08:22 ч. Departure to Buñol by train.
Tens of thousands of participants come from all over the world for Tomatina, a festival for which hundreds of tons of overripe tomatoes are used. Tomato fighting has been a strict tradition in Buñol since 1945. There are several theories about the origin of this event, one of which holds that the festival traces its origins to a food fight between friends. Another theory states that during the town festival, disgruntled citizens began targeting the town councilman with tomatoes and a fight broke out that was so entertaining it was repeated the following year. Around 10:00 p.m., a pork leg was hung from the top of a tall stake smeared with grease. The tomato fight could only start after someone managed to climb up and take the pork leg off. At 11:00, in the centre of Buñol, trucks of tomatoes pile into the Plaza del Pueblo. A gunshot starts the fight. Before a tomato is thrown, it has to be crushed to avoid hurting someone. Participants are advised to wear safety goggles (for swimming, for example) and gloves. Festival rules do not allow additional items (e.g., bottles) to be carried, and tearing other participants' clothing. The battle lasts between one and two hours, after which a second shot ends the battle. The clean-up process involves the use of fire trucks. People can wash up at public showers near the river. Return to Valencia by train. Overnight.
Day 5
Breakfast. Free time with the possibility of additional excursions. Overnight.
Day 6
Breakfast. Free time. Transfer to the airport.
20:00 - 23:55 - Flight Valencia - Sofia.
